With the addition of Helmut Lindt Malerfachbetrieb from Frankfurt am Main, another well-regarded company has joined Håndverksgruppen.
– We are very pleased to welcome Peter Fugmann and Malerfachbetrieb Lindt. From the very beginning, we were impressed by how structured Peter, Dirk and René run the business, and we are truly looking forward to the professional exchange with him and his team, says Øyvind Emblem, Group CEO of Håndverksgruppen.
Malerfachbetrieb Lindt, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, has 26 employees. It is the largest of the eight German companies that have joined HG so far.
Master painter Helmut Lindt founded the business in 1950. In 1982, his son Peter Lindt took over the management, before in 1999 finding a suitable successor from within the company in Peter Fugmann, who is now General Manager.
Today, the company’s core business is offering complete solutions covering everything from painting work to façade work and thermal insulation, as well as drywall construction and high-quality interior finishing, particularly for commercial customers.
Peter Fugmann first heard about HG two years ago through a business advisor – and immediately became curious. He got in touch with Olaf Übelacker, whose company Hans Übelacker was the first to become part of HG in Germany.
– Even though we didn’t know each other, we clicked right away. The dialogue was really good, says Fugmann.
When making his decision, one thing in particular was crucial for him: entrepreneurial freedom.
– We are good because we are fast and flexible, because our employees make good decisions, and because we work with subcontractors as equal partners. I did not want to subject that potential to rigid rules.
The background to the succession planning was a personal clarification: Fugmann is in his late 50s, and his son will not be taking over the business. For him, it was important to find a solution that above all gives the many employees who have been with the company for a long time a secure future.
– I see HG as the best solution for securing a good future for Malerfachbetrieb Lindt. As part of the group, we have the stability we need to continue running our business in a good way.
Through the new network within HG, Fugmann is primarily hoping for an open exchange of experience with like-minded peers.
– In HG, you find colleagues you do not compete with, but who are part of the same group. That creates the basis for close and trust-based exchange, even at an international level, and I like that very much.
Since entering the German market in 2023, HG has quickly gained a foothold and already generates revenue of around EUR 50 million.
– We are convinced that the HG model can create added value for local craftspeople in Germany, just as it does in Scandinavia. Much of this value lies precisely in the exchange of experience, sharing best practices, the HG Academy, and collaboration on joint projects, says Group CEO Øyvind Emblem.
– Particularly in the German market, we see enormous potential, and our goal is to establish HG as a leading player in surface treatment here.
