Sascha Gellrich takes on the role of Managing Director of Håndverksgruppen Germany. Sascha brings with him extensive and international leadership experience, including various positions at CWS Hygiene International over six and a half years, most recently as the group’s COO.
– When I first got to know HG, I knew straight away: this is a perfect fit, says Sascha Gellrich.
– I feel a personal connection to the values HG stands for; there is a high level of integrity, a strong sense of community, collaboration with flat hierarchies and a great deal of empowerment within a decentralised operating model. I’m really looking forward to a role that combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.
In his new role, Sascha intends to focus on three main areas: that Håndverksgruppen is to continue to grow in Germany, and new businesses are to become partners. He looks forward to supporting the local companies’ own development. Finally, he is keen to further strengthen the culture of collaboration.
Since joining HG, Sascha Gellrich has got to know both his colleagues in Scandinavia and the companies in Germany. He has visited several local companies and construction sites in Norway, Denmark and Germany. Looking ahead, he is very much looking forward to getting to know the German teams even better.
– Our aim is to work together, learn from one another and preserve the strengths of each individual company, says Sascha.
Øyvind Emblem, Group CEO of Håndverksgruppen, is delighted to have Sascha on board:
– We are delighted that Sascha is now joining our team. With his experience, he is ideally qualified to further develop Håndverksgruppen in Germany. His experience in the service sector, combined with a thorough understanding of decentralised companies with multiple locations, gives him a solid foundation for understanding and embracing the HG model.
Sascha has 20 years of international and operational experience, with a background in consulting at PwC and senior roles in the service sector at Rentokil Initial and CWS. Throughout his career, he has been involved in strategic projects, including cross-border M&A. He has also spent more than a decade in senior roles, including as COO and head of national organisations, with full operational responsibility.
Michael Mathias, who has served as interim head of Germany, will return to his role as CFO of Håndverksgruppen in Germany.
